High powered performance for new-generation medium-class helicopters and tiltrotors. 1,600 to 2,000 shaft horsepower class and the latest technology. Unmatched performance, continuing the PT6 legacy.

The PT6C Series, with its latest advanced technologies, has been designed in the tradition of Pratt & Whitney's first helicopter engines to deliver outstanding reliability, durability and operating economics.

Setting a New Standard in Its Class

The PT6C Series sets a new standard in its class for power-to-weight ratio, fuel consumption, as well as durability in harsh operating environments. Advanced engine control ranging from Electronic Engine Control (EEC) to Dual Channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) further advances ease of pilot operation and maintenance diagnostics.

Versatility on a Wide Variety of Applications

The 1,600 to 2,000 shaft horsepower class PT6C Series has been produced in four models and its versatility has been demonstrated on a wide variety of applications.PT6C engines have been delivered to power helicopters in service around the world for offshore, emergency medical services, search & rescue, business and utility operations.

Protect the Value of your Asset

Plan your budget and minimize unscheduled maintenance with our Maintenance Programs: Our Eagle Service PlanTM (ESPTM) for single aircraft, our Fleet Service Plan (FSP) for growing fleets of two to five helicopters, and our Fleet Management Plan (FMP) for fleets of six or more aircraft.

Customized Programs, Competitive Solutions

you can keep your helicopter in the air with program P&WCSMART™ Helicopter Engine program. Our two-year, 500-hour Certified Pre-Owned program benefits buyers and sellers of used helicopters.

Know your Engine from the Inside Out

Our oil analysis technology provides advanced prognostics and engine health management that improves predictability and availability. Experience unparalleled dispatch availability and reduced operating costs through our FAST solution.

The PT6C is Based on the PT6A-67 Series Airline Turboprop Engine.

The PT6C remains a PT6 in basic configuration, with its two-shaft layout consisting of a multi-stage compressor driven by a single-stage compressor turbine and an independent shaft coupling the power turbine to the output shaft. It also incorporates the latest advanced compressor, combustion and turbine technologies to provide an impressive power-to-weight ratio while delivering low fuel consumption, high durability and excellent operating economics. With its modern engine control ranging from Electronic Engine Control (EEC) to Dual Channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), the PT6C Series provides ease of pilot operation and enhanced maintenance diagnostics to maximize engine refurbishment intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the typical lead time for gas turbine overhaul services?
The lead time for gas turbine overhaul services ranges from 6 to 14 weeks, depending on the damage assessment, parts availability, and whether hot-section repairs are required. Expedited options may reduce this by 30%.
  • Do you provide customizations for legacy turbine control systems?

Yes, we retrofit legacy systems (e.g., GE Frame 5, Siemens V94.2) with modern digital controllers, typically completing hardware integration within 4-8 weeks. Software migration requires additional validation time.

  • How often should industrial gas turbines undergo performance testing?

We recommend annual performance testing under ISO 3977-2 standards. Critical applications (e.g., offshore platforms) may require semi-annual tests with emissions compliance checks.

  • Are your radiation-hardened (rad-hard) semiconductors compliant with MIL-PRF-38535?

All rad-hard devices (e.g., FPGA, ADC) are QML Class V certified under MIL-PRF-38535 and tested to MIL-STD-883 Method 1019 for SEU tolerance. Full qualification reports are available upon request.

  • What temperature ranges do your military-grade ICs support?

Our ASICs and power management ICs operate across -55°C to +175°C ambient temperatures, with derating curves provided in military temperature range (MTR) datasheets.

  • Are PMA parts interchangeable with OEM components?

Our PMA parts (e.g., actuators, sensors) hold FAA/EASA Form 1 certification and match OEM form/fit/function. Installation requires SB/MB documentation per FAA AC 23.1529.

  • What traceability standards do you follow for aircraft fasteners?

All NAS/MS fasteners include full DNA traceability: melt source (AMS 2301), heat/lot numbers, and AS9100-compliant MTRs with ultrasonic test reports.

  • How do you handle urgent AOG (Aircraft on Ground) requests?

AOG orders ship within 4 hours for stocked items (FAA-PMA, EASA Part 21G). Non-stock critical parts trigger priority manufacturing with 72-hour max turnaround.
